Course proposal:
An experience aimed at getting to know Brazilian rhythms, with the intention of
valuing popular culture through rhythmic experimentation and instruments.
In these meetings, the students will explore Brazilian rhythms such as samba,
maracatu, ciranda, as well as rhythms from the world of forró, such as coco de roda, xaxado,
xote, baião and arrasta-pé.
They will also take a stroll through the drumming of the Southeast, with Jongo and Congado, and
explore the instruments and their possibilities, such as the pandeiro, ganzá, triângulo,
agogô, xequerê, caixa, alfaia, zabumba and hand drums.
